Augments

Augments are crafted items that help you get additional stats in your gear to help reach your ideal setup. There are 14 gear pieces that allow augments, and all are essential as an endgame player. In this guide, we will cover how to get augments, craft them, and which ones you should use for your character.

How To Get An Augment

To get augments, you can do one of a couple things:

  • Craft them. All endgame augments can be crafted, although it can be costly if you don’t have the materials.
  • Buy them on the GTN. This can also be costly, but it will save you work.

Regardless of which way you go, you will also need Augmentation Kits, which can also be crafted or bought on the GTN.

Augment Comparisons

Comparing the numbers will help you figure out what augments you need to reach the recommended thresholds for your type of player role. Each role requires different stats and percentages, so using augments to give that little bit of stat change is easier than changing a whole piece of gear. Crafting Augments

Each Crafting Profession plays a part in the augmentation process. Three skills, the Armormech, Armstech, and Synthweaving make the actual augments, while the other crafting skills, Artifice, Cybertech, and Biochem make parts needed for the newer augments from 7.7. Below you will see what parts each makes:

Crafting level 80 augments will take all the crafting skills at level 700. You can do this yourself, with a friend, or buy materials off the GTN.

To get some of the materials, you will need to do the Relentless Replication Operation and gather the drops. One of the most necessary materials only drops from the new lair boss on Ilum, Propagator Core XR-53. Other materials will drop in Story and Veteran Mode. Schematics drop in all three levels as shown below.
